Great Lakes Grain FS: Co-operatively owned by farmers

Great Lakes Grain is a grain marketing partnership between AGRIS Co-operative Ltd., GROWMARK, Inc. (including FS PARTNERS, a division of GROWMARK, Inc.) and Embrun Coop. Great Lakes Grain is one of the largest operators of Ontario country elevators. It represents over 20 million bushels of storage capacity with total marketing in excess of 50 million bushels. Great Lakes Grain serves farmers out of 27 AGRIS Co-operative, FS PARTNERS, and Embrun Co-op branded locations that span from Windsor through to Ottawa and north to Georgian Bay.

AGRIS Co-operative Ltd. is a 100 per cent farmer-owned grain marketing and farm-input supply company that serves more than 1,000 farmer owners in 14 locations in Essex, Kent, Elgin, Middlesex and Lambton Counties.

It is a leader in precision farming technology, seed, agronomy and petroleum services. The co-operative is a partner of Great Lakes Grain, a grain merchandising company. AGRIS Co-operative is a member-owner of GROWMARK, Inc. and markets products and services under the FS banner.

FS PARTNERS was established in 2006 as a management group of local co-operatives, including: Inland Co-Operative Inc., Norfolk Co-Operative Co Ltd., Waterloo-Oxford Cooperative Inc., and Simcoe County District Co-operative Services.

In 2009, FS PARTNERS became a retail division of GROWMARK, Inc. We have been a strong member of the FS System across North America.

We offer membership to our local farmer-producers, and proudly serve central and southwestern Ontario.

Embrun Co-op is a co-operative located in the heart of Eastern Ontario which serves its clients in both official languages. It offers products and services through its nine divisions. It is owned by its members who have chosen to join in order to share in the benefits of co-operation."

Though operations take place across nine different divisions, synergy is a concept Embrun Co-op takes very seriously. It's team members are encouraged to seek and share skills and knowledge among each other. This synergy helps to ensure continued growth and sustainability across the whole of Embrun Co-op.
