Dale Cowan, Agronomy Strategy Manager and Senior Agronomist for AGRIS and Wanstead Farmers Co-operatives would like to announce that Jenna Delaey from Chatham has joined us for this summer as Project Manager for our Pilot Winter Wheat Benchmark Production Program. Jenna is currently attending the University of Ottawa in BA Joint Environmental Studies and Geography (a bilingual program) and is a participant of the university’s co-op studies program.

Jenna usually enjoys any outdoor activity, but that is currently a bit of a challenge.

In light of the COVID-19 policy, her project will take on a slightly different activity. We have been busy signing up 30 co-operators with which to interact. Part of her duties is to survey the participants by phone on their production practices and then locate the fields and perform soil tests and plant tissue testing when appropriate and general scouting activities at critical times.

I trust you will join me in welcoming Jenna aboard “from a distance” and allow her onto your fields to do her assigned tasks by herself.

We are all making adjustments in the workplace to make sure we all stay healthy.

We wish Jenna every success with her project even though we currently have challenges with our face-to-face contact. I know you will all support her and heed social distancing requirements during this serious and important work.
