Carter Karan

Business Management Student, Dalhousie University

Carter is joining Great Lakes Grain as a summer intern. He grew up in South Africa on a cattle farm that also produces soya and maize and manufactures its own feed, giving him early hands-on exposure to agriculture and shaping his strong interest in the industry.

Carter is currently in his fourth year at Dalhousie University, where he is studying Business Management. This summer, he is looking forward to beginning research for his Growth and Development Project, as well as participating in the 2026 Crop Tour later in the season.

He is excited to learn more about the Great Lakes Grain team and to gain a better understanding of the Canadian agriculture sector.
